Valatie Man Accused Of Sex Abuse Hit With New Charges
Last month a Valatie man was arrested and charged with sexual abuse of minors, yesterday new charges were brought against him with additional victims.
On December 4th of last year, 46-year old Heath Harrison of Valatie was arrested and charged with having sexual contact with minors. His victims ranged in ages between 7 and 12 years old. The sexual misconduct occurred in Columbia and Rensselaer counties, the most recent incidents occurred in Schodack.
On December 4, Heath Harrison was charged with at least seven incidents including touching children, endangering the welfare of children, and unlawful imprisonment. At that time Harrison was arrested and taken to the Rensselaer County Jail, but he was later released on bail.
According to News 10, On Monday the Rensselaer County Sheriff’s Office announced that they arrested Harrison on new sex abuse charges.
The new charges were brought against Harrison because he was involved in three additional incidents involving sexual contact with minors in April and May 2018.
The new charges against Harrison are Predatory Sexual Assault Against a Child; First- Criminal Sex Act; First-Degree Sexual Abuse; First-Degree Rape; Sexual Misconduct and Forcible Touching.
Harrison was arraigned in Schodack yesterday and remanded to the Rensselaer County Jail. If convicted on the new charges, he could receive from 10 years to life in prison.
This man apparently has some serious issues and this is another demonstration of how diligent parents must be. We must always be mindful of where our children are and who they are with.
