The Albany Cabaret Law continues to hurt local business. You can add Savannah’s Dublin Underground to the list of bars closing their doors. The news broke via DJ Nick Papa Giorgio’s facebook page. Nick is the resident DJ at Savannah’s.

The Cabaret Law has been well documented in local media over the past week. The new restriction requires Albany Bars to shut down live music (karaoke, bands, DJs) at midnight on weeknights and 2am on weekends.

I’ve spent a great deal of time at Savannah’s over the years. The people there are great – Joe, Petey, Big Show, Nick, Roy… all class acts! My favorite memory was when Coolio and American Idol’s Blake Lewis were hanging out and joined the performing band on-stage for an impromptu performance.

Hot 99.1 would like to extend the best of wishes to the whole staff. Albany is on a down-swing that will, hopefully, be corrected in the near future. Savannah’s will join the ranks of Jillian’s and Brown Derby when they close their doors on Monday.
