The last few years have been rough for rapper Ja Rule. He's done serving his time in a state prison for weapons possession, but now he has more time to serve.

Usually when people exit a prison, it's a good thing.  Not for Ja Rule, who left an Upstate New York prison today to begin a sentence in a Federal prison for a tax case. It's hard out here for a pimp - no wait, that's a different group. Whatever.

Ja served 28-months under protective custody (because he's famous) and could serve up to six more months for owing the IRS around $1.1 million. After that, he has a year of being watched by the 5-0.
