Did anyone else see this coming?  I did.

It was only a matter of time before Harry said it’s time to go, a move that would protect his family and legacy.  The prince and his wife Meghan Markle announced on their Instagram that they will be basically distancing themselves from the royal family and becoming financially independent.

On their Instagram page he writes:  “After many months of reflection and internal discussions, we have chosen to make a transition this year in starting to carve out a progressive new role within this institution. We intend to step back as ‘senior’ members of the Royal Family and work to become financially independent, while continuing to fully support Her Majesty The Queen. It is with your encouragement, particularly over the last few years, that we feel prepared to make this adjustment. We now plan to balance our time between the United Kingdom and North America, continuing to honour our duty to The Queen, the Commonwealth, and our patronages.”

Harry has his mother’s spunk, he’s not going to be bossed around and told what to do.  And if that means not receiving money from the Royal Family, so be it.  I don’t think him or Meghan are going to have any problems financially.  You would think being a prince and a princess would be worry free, but there are a lot of duties and responsibilities that come with the role that can be overwhelming, you can watch some of the documentaries on Princess Diana to see that.

Good for them that they are getting out and doing their own thing.  Who want’s to be up under the family all the time anyway?
