NY Attorney General Indicts 47 People In Capital Region Drug Bust

Letitia James, New York’s Attorney General, announced 47 drug trafficking indictments on Thursday. According to Attorney General James, the indictments stem from distribution of fentanyl, cocaine, and heroin in the Capital Region.

Authorities say that about 14.5 pounds of cocaine, 2.5 ounces of heroin, .25 pounds of fentanyl, $40,000 in cash, and dozens of various other narcotics pills were confiscated.

Attorney General James said, “We will pursue and prosecute all those who pedal illicit drugs and put New Yorkers in harm's way for personal profit. Communities across New York are safer today for having shut down this vast network of distributors and traffickers of illicit drugs.”

According to News 10, authorities the drug ring worked in Saratoga, Rensselaer , Albany, Schenectady and Warren Counties. All of the drugs originated in New York City. In many instances, the drug dealers sold fentanyl, or other drugs laced with fentanyl to unsuspecting clients.

The investigation took at least one year to complete. Today’s indictments include:
