New York’s Top 10 Ranked MLB Players For 2022

The New York Yankees and Mets are stacked with All Stars...right? Well, when you want to find out who are the most productive players in the game, just ask the fantasy sports experts. So, USA Today Sports released their Top 200 MLB Fantasy Baseball Players on usatoday.com. Here are New York's top 10 players and there are certainly some surprises!

At #10 in New York and #112 in the Top 200 was Yankees left-handed reliever, Aroldis Chapman. Chapman anchors the Yankees bullpen and led the team with 30 saves and was 9th in MLB in 2021.

#9 is a definite on any stats packed list. #82 overall is Yankees DH/outfielder, Giancarlo Stanton. The 33 year-old owns a .901 OPS lifetime and is still crushing the baseball. In 2021 he blasted 35 home runs and drove in 97.

Some may argue with #8 but the stats don't lie when it comes to fantasy sports. #74 overall is Mets closer, Edwin Diaz. The 28 year-old was a work-horse for New York last season with 32 saves, appearing in 63 games. Diaz has learned to keep the ball in the park. That helps. He should have another big year.

#7 needs to have a big year and may be a steal at #54 overall or he could be another bust. Francisco Lindor has gotten through his welcoming year in the Big Apple. Now it's time to produce. The 28 year-old struggled for most of the year at the plate and failed to carry his new team, as expected by his hefty new contract.

#6 is another stat-packer for the Mets. #38 overall is the Amazin's 2-time Home Run Derby champion, Pete Alonzo. The 27 year-old Polar Bear smacked 37 homers and drove in 94 in a weird year for the Mets. He may be a bargain at #38.

No need to wait on a verdict on #5. Aaron Judge is a target for any fantasy baseball team or real one for that matter. Yankees general manager Brian Cashman is a few days away from making Aaron Judge, #36 overall, a very rich man.

Sorry Mets fans, I never saw #4 coming. New Mets outfielder Starling Marte was #22 on the list overall and the top ranked position player in New York.

You always wonder how the experts will rank the top pitchers in the big city. Coming in at #3 is Jacob deGrom. It will not be a surprise if deGrom ends up as the #1 player by the end of the season. He is THAT good.

Coming in at #2 is the guy that competes in Spring Training like it is Game 7 of the World Series. #17 overall is Max Scherzer, the new other ace on the New York Mets. Owner Steve Cohen brought in the right-hander at a cool $130 million for 3 years.

#1 was a bit of surprise with #2 moving to New York and #3 healthy but so beit. #9 overall on the USA Today Top 200 MLB Fantasy Players was New York Yankees ace Gerrit Cole. The 31 year-old right-hander struggled last year after pitchers began to be checked for foreign grip-assisting substances. Let's see if he holds up in the #1 spot in New York this year.

#1 overall on the list went to Los Angelas Dodger, Trea Turner. The 28 year-old All Star hit .328 last year with 28 home runs. He is a free agent after 2022. Look out!
