The New York Yankees have a one game lead over the Cleveland Guardians in a best of five ALDS.  Game two was just changed to Friday afternoon at around 1:07 p.m. due to the inclement weather coming to the Bronx and Yankee Stadium on Thursday night.  With that being said, the Yankees played well in their 4-1 win on Tuesday night.  Harrison Bader and Anthony Rizzo both had clutch homeruns and Jose Trevino added a sacrifice fly as well.  The biggest story for me was how well Gerrit Cole pitched in his home postseason debut at Yankee Stadium.  He delivered when it mattered most as I continue this discussion in my quick take from The Times Union:

I have bashed New York Yankees ace Gerrit Cole many times in my Quick Takes this season, and some well deserved bashing after he gave up the second most home runs in Major League Baseball during the regular season. But since you’re judged on how you do in the postseason more than the regular season, give Cole credit for delivering in the playoffs. He had great stuff on Tuesday and despite giving up an early home run, lived up to his $324M contract. And he did it in his postseason debut at Yankees stadium in Pinstripes. The Yankees will need more vintage Cole performances, if they are going to make a serious run at their first World Series Title since 2009.

MJ and I discussed Game one and Gerrit Cole to open our Wednesday edition of Big Board Sports.  Below is our full conversation on this.

We'll see how Nestor Cortes pitches in his postseason debut vs Shane Bieber on the Guardians.  It should be a good game two on Friday afternoon in the Bronx.
