Lil Yachty Partners with Disney and Beats by Dre to Reveal Mickey Mouse’s 90th Anniversary Edition Headphones
Known for his exuberant youthful energy, Lil Yachty makes sense as the perfect pick to represent the face of a campaign celebrating the 90th anniversary of Mickey Mouse.
In partnership with Disney and Beats by Dre, the 21-year-old is helping promote the Mickey Mouse Anniversary Edition Beats Solo3 Wireless headphones. Marketing-wise, the collaboration is exploring where a career or legacy first began, playing off the famous Walt Disney quote, “It was all started by a mouse.”
During a quick 15-second clip, Lil Yachty can be seen donning the Mickey Mouse-laden headphones and reflecting briefly on his come-up.
“It was all started by a wake-up call,” he shares in the promotional video. “I made a bad decision and I didn’t want to be that type of person that just threw his life away. Literally the next day, I changed my whole life around. I packed up all my stuff and went home and got started on my dreams.”
In addition to appearing in a campaign video as one of the faces of the collaboration, Lil Yachty also discussed what being included in this anniversary celebration means to him.
“Music and Disney go hand in hand, now they just have the perfect headphones to be an outlet and represent them,” he shared in a press release. “I am honored to be chosen for this collaboration; I grew up watching Disney and using Beats headphones. Now I get to represent them both it’s unreal.”
The headphones are currently available for pre-order on Amazon and will land in stores on November 11.
In related news, the rapper is gearing up to drop his Nuthin 2 Prove tape this Friday (Oct. 18). The project features contributions from Offset, Cardi B, Gunna, Lil Baby, Juice Wrld, Trippie Redd and Kevin Gates, among others.
