In an interview with RapRadar, Jim Jones said that Max B, who he signed to his Byrdgang label in 2006, could've been just as "big as Drake."

Max B was sentenced to 75 years in prison for murder conspiracy and robbery back in 2009 and won't be eligible for parole until 2042. Jim and Max B fell out prior to his sentencing, however, parting ways on hostile terms in 2008.

"That's a chapter in my life that's been gone," Jim said of his relationship with the incarcerated rapper. Still, Jim says Max B paved a lane for some of hip-hop's biggest names to find success.

"I put a lot of money into that boy pocket," Jim said in the recent interview. "He had a chance to do, be as big as Drake right now. A lot of these artists right now that are singing and being very melodic, a lot of that came from that boy's whole catalogue. Wiz Khalifa will tell you right now that he studied his music word-for-word and took a lot of his wave. We all make our decisions. It's just sad sometimes."

He also shared his feelings on Dame Dash, saying their relationship remains on the rocks. "F--- Dame," he said. "When you find out nobody was doing the right thing, that line gets blurred."

Jim Jones is currently promoting his latest mixtape, The Kitchen, a 14-track release that features Kevin Gates, A$AP Ferg and Dave East.
