An Upstate New York ice cream store chain and two Capital Region farms have received high honors at the Great New York State Fair.

Dairy Product Competitions Are a Major Part of New York State Fair

This year the annual Dairy Product competition had one hundred ninety-seven entrants. These were for twenty-six categories. Among them were cheese, yogurt, sour cream, and dips. This was the first year that ice cream was added to the competition.

Upstate NY Ice Cream Store Chain Won in Two Categories

Stewart's Shops brought home the gold in two ice cream categories in this year's Dairy Products Competitions. Stewart's won for best chocolate ice cream and best-flavored ice cream. They also grabbed the best fluid milk and first for best-flavored milk.
