Latest Capital Region Snowfall Estimates For Tonight's Storm

Many areas surrounding Albany will see their first few inches of snow tonight - here's what to expect.

With this snow event, it really is good news good news. We are only going to get a few inches of snow at the highest elevations, and this storm will be out of town before the big Thanksgiving travel rush Wednesday night. That said, it still will be a little bit of a nuisance if you are out and about tonight.

News Channel 13 First Warning Forecast

According to News Channel 13, snow will arrive this evening with a coating up to 2 inches by midnight, with higher elevations in the Adirondacks and Vermont getting up to 4 inches. After midnight the snow will change to rain with showers tapering off my tomorrow afternoon. You could see a few slowdowns on the road tonight, but we should be in good shape for your evening commute Wednesday.

According to the National Weather Service snowfall map below, the immediate Albany area can expect minimal snow with surrounding areas getting anywhere from 1 to 2 inches with higher elevations to the north and east getting 3 to 4 inches.
