How Much Did We Get? See Upstate NY Snowfall Totals Here
It was not a huge doozy of a storm, but some areas in the Capital Region did end up getting a good amount of snow on Monday, December 11, 2023.
While most areas at lower elevations ended up getting just a coating and no one saw the foot of snow that was predicted in some areas over the weekend, some cities and towns around the Capital Region saw some decent accumulations. Most of the bigger snowfall numbers fell in Green, Schoharie, and Schenectady Counties with several towns getting 8 inches of snow according to National Weather Service spotter reports.

Winter finally made its presence known today and we did not get quite the amount expected, some decent snow accumulations reached many areas surrounding the Capital Region of New York. Another Upstate New York winter is upon us. And while it is popular for forecasters to predict a cold and snowy winter ahead, how much snow would it actually take to make it an all-time winter when it comes to big a big snowfall total for the season? In the average winter, the National Weather Service (NWS_ says we get 59.2 inches of snow in Albany. We will have to crush that number this winter for the season ahead to make this NWS top 10 list of our snowiest Albany winters on record.
