Capital Region Doughnut Shop Among Best in Nation on Yelp
All of us want to know where to go for the best doughnut. Fortunately, Yelp.com did the work for us prediabetics-in-denial and gave us their Top 100 list, and Albany is just one of many cities in New York State to be named. They compiled this list based on customer reviews, total volume, and many other factors, being sure to search thoroughly for the very best bakers of "America’s glazed, iced, dipped, sprinkled, and cream-filled confections" (yelp.com). My mouth is watering just looking at all the sugary goodness on their list!
If you've got a sweet tooth and live in the area, you have to know about this delicious hidden gem doughnut shop in Albany. It was 2014 when local siblings Jennifer and Peter "Andy" Novak started the business Cider Belly Doughnuts (Michael DeMasi, Albany Business Review). They opened their first storefront at 25 North Pearl St., and have since expanded by adding a second location at 53 Fuller Rd. in Albany (518 Bites and Sites). Yelp.com recently just named the shop #88 on their top 100 list of best doughnut shops in the U.S., so what makes these doughnuts so good?
By looking at their menu, I'm not surprised this spot is so popular among locals. Upstate NY does NOT mess around when it comes to their cider doughnuts, that's for sure.
