Human Remains Found On Schodack Island

Two men fishing came across the remains on Monday afternoon on Schodack Island prompting an investigation by State Police, firefighters, and forest rangers.

According to CBS 6 News, the two men were fishing on Monday and came across the himan remains around 6pm. Authorities believe the remains are that of a male, but no actual identification of the body has been revealed.

It is not known at this point where the men discovered the body, but it was believed to have been in the waters of the adjacent Hudson River.

In addition to State Police, forest rangers and firefighters also responded to the scene.

Schodack Island State Park is a 1,052-acre state park that spans portions of Rensselaer, Greene, and Columbia counties, New York. The park is located between the Hudson River and Schodack Creek and offers multiple campgrounds as well as picnic tables, and miles of trails for hiking, fishing and hunting.
