Troy, stand up!  Some great news to report this morning if you regularly play Take 5 from the New York Lottery.  It appears that more than likely someone from Troy - or just outside of it - purchased a jackpot winning ticket from a convenient store for last night's Take 5 drawing and whoever won is sitting on some pretty serious money right now.

According to News 10 ABC, someone in Rensselaer County is over $50,000 dollars richer this morning and they may not even know it.  The winning Take 5 lottery ticket worth $53,599 was purchased QUDRAT INC, located at 491 5th Ave in Troy.

The winning numbers from Monday night's drawing were 3,4,14,18 and 30.

While it's no easy feat to hit big with Take 5, it has been done in the Capital Region with a certain amount of regularity.

Lottery USA says the odds of winning the Take 5 first prize jackpot in New York are one in 575,757.

Back in April someone in Schenectady County scored 30K after splitting the top prize jackpot in a Take 5 game.

The game works as follows: you choose five numbers from 1 to 39 to play New York Take Five. Each game is $1 to play and drawings are held every night at 10:30pm.

Congratulations to the winner.  While it may not be life-changing dough, our lives have certainly changed enough in the past year to know that any little bit helps- and this is more than just a little bit.  Hopefully the winner has chance to take multiple trips this summer, get that kitchen redone or put a down payment on a new house.
