As Black History Month is winding down, it’s still not too late to learn more about African Americans in the history of the United States.

According to New York Upstate, Each day throughout the month of February, The National Abolition Hall of Fame and Museum, has been presenting short videos that address the contributions and struggles of African-Americans throughout the history of this country.

The series of videos is entitled “Black Lives Matter“.  The videos are free of charge and the museum has presented a new one each day.   Even though the month is almost over, there is still time to learn more about black history.

The videos will teach you about the beginning of slavery as the English colonies were being formed, as well as slavery in the rest of this country.  You will also learn how the abolitionists struggled to end slavery in the state of New York and the continuation of racism even after the end of slavery.

If you haven’t had an opportunity to witness their videos, check out their website at www.nationalabolitionhalloffameandmuseum.org.  The videos can also be seen on the Museum’s YouTube channel, their Facebook page, their Instagram account, and they are also on Twitter.

It seems as if Black History Month is going by very quickly.  We all know that one month is not enough to learn everything about the history and accomplishments of African-Americans in this country.  Even though the “official” month to study Black history is coming to an end, we must study Black history every month to understand the fullness and the richness of the African-American culture.
