Let's start with boys basketball. In a huge Class B match-up, #14 Maxpreps.com ranked Mechanicville took on #10 ranked Tamarac. Coach Medved and the Tamarac Bengals prevailed 75-60, while Cohoes went to Cobleskill and edged the home team 49-42. Shenendehowa beat Averill Park 52-36, as Colonie snuck by Columbia 55-53 in a thriller. Gloversville edged Glens Falls 46-45, while Watervliet sank Hudson 69-53. Amsterdam held off Broadalbin Perth 64-49, as Lake George dropped 86 on Corinth for the victory. Salem downed Whitehall 52-46

In more boys basketball action, with another tight road victory, Niskayuna nipped Guilderland 54-53. CBA shut down Bethlehem 62-35 and Shaker downed Burnt Hills 54-51. Icabod Crane nearly doubled Ravena 81-44, as Vooheesville beat Mohonasen 46-41. Stillwater shut down Cambridge 65-28, while Fort Plain held down Galway 63-29. Duanesburg snuck by Oppenheim-Ephratah-St. Johnsville 50-49, as Granville defeated Hadley-Luzerne 75-60. Hudson Falls downed Schuylerville 55-47, as South Glens Falls knocked off Johnstown 63-40.

Now on to the girls basketball scores. In the big match-up of Friday night, Class AA Maxpreps.com #7 ranked Shen knocked off Class A #1 ranked Averill Park 66-50. Troy beat Ballston Spa 52-27, as Niskayuna knocked off Guilderland 46-30. Class AA #16 ranked Shaker knocked off Class A 8th ranked Burnt Hills 73-54.
