Fox 23 News Fires Ann Hughes

The Capital Region has lost an incredibly talented news anchor. Ann Hughes was the victim of downsizing as Fox 23 news is merging with WTEN. Ann first appeared on Capital Region television in 1998 and delivered her final newscast on Tuesday night.

An article in the Times Union revealed that more cuts to the company could be coming.

Ann’s co-anchor on WXXA, John Gray, is now teamed up with WTEN’s Lydia Kulbida for the WTEN 6pm along with the Fox 23 10pm newscasts.
