Drake’s ‘Views From the 6′ to Stream on Apple Music for the First Week

Drake's fans will have to go to Apple Music to hear Views From The 6 when it drops.

Buzzfeed reports that the album will be exclusive to Apple for seven days before heading to other streaming platforms. It seems like a no brainer though since the Toronto rhymer signed a $19 million deal with the tech giant.

But as Drizzy is gearing up to release his next album at the end of the month, he's still pushing the limits with his former projects.

According to the RIAA (via HipHopDX), three of Drake's albums: 2011's Take Care, 2013's Nothing Was the Same and 2015's If Youre Reading This Its Too Late nabbed platinum certifications. The former has sold over four million copies -- making it Drake's highest-earning album of his career.

Exclusivity on streaming platforms is becoming a common move for artists. Jay Z's TIDAL had Kanye West's The Life of Pablo for a few weeks after its release. Rihanna's Anti album and Big Sean and Jhene Aiko's TWENTY88 were also exclusive to their respective platforms for the first few days as well.

Only time will tell if this move will push Apple Music to gain more subscribers. Views From The 6 is slated to be released on April 29.
