As fans continue to wait for any news about a new Jay Z album, reggae star Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley confirmed the two recently recorded music together. After Hov was spotted in Jamaica with Marley, many wondered what the two were up to.

Speaking with Billboard, the reggae singer said the two toured Jamaica and spent some time in the studio together. “We did some work in the studio recently and he wanted to come to Jamaica to get a tour of the place,” said Marley.

The singer added, “He’s been to Jamaica before, but never Kingston. So he wanted to come down to Kingston and asked us if we could have been there to show him around and give him a tour musically, in terms of our history in Kingston.”

As for what the two worked on, Marley wouldn’t reveal anything but did let it slip that he helped Jay Z with music that he’s been working on. “I did some work with him for some stuff that he’s working on,” he said. “I’m not really sure of the details of his project in that sense, but we worked on some music together.

While Jay Z has yet to confirm a new album exists, Marley isn’t the first artist to discuss recently working with rapper. Producer Zaytoven recently told Rap-Up that he and the Jay made some music together, saying, “I can’t say when any music of me and Jay Z is coming out, but we put some music together.”
