We lost another one ya’ll, one of my favorite comedians John Witherspoon has passed away at 77. Witherspoon is a comedic legend that we all got to witness his greatness. John Witherspoon's family announced he died suddenly Tuesday at his home in Sherman Oaks, California. The statement reads, "It is with deep sadness we have to tweet this, but our husband & father John Witherspoon has passed away." The cause of his death is unknown currently.

John has given the world decades of laughter, the most memorable is his role in the “Friday” series & “The Wayans Bros.” I remember first seeing John Witherspoon as the grumpy old man who live next door in House Party. The comedian was also attached to the reboot project of the Boondocks, an animated sitcom by Aaron McGruder. His role was going to be reprised as Robert Freeman.

John Witherspoon is a great reminder that you can have a long career and re invent your self multiple times. He did everything that a comedian could aspire for he worked with the legends and had several hit movies and tv shows through out multiple decades. He is survived by his wife, Angela, and sons JD and Alexander. He truly will be missed.
