Sad news from Colonie, the teen who was involved in a car crash over a year ago, who was severely burned in a car crash near Blessings Tavern has passed away according to Times Union.

The Colonie teenager who was severely burned in a fiery car crash at Blessings Tavern succumbed to his injuries Monday.

Niko DiNovo, 17, passed away shortly before 6 p.m. Monday, his aunt, Davina Resciniti, said in a Facebook post that was later confirmed by the Albany County District Attorney's Office.

Niko was in the car with his friend Michael Carr. In December 2017, Carr, 19, admitted he was driving at 60 mph in a 30 mph zone when he lost control of the car and crashed into the truck, sparking a fire. So this accident could have been prevented if Michael wasn't drinking, drugging and speeding.

Carr was charged with second-degree assault and driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol. In January, he was sentenced to six years in prison. He won't face additional charges as a result of Niko DiNovo's death, as part of his plea deal.

Some people didn't agree with this decision do you think Michael Carr should face additional charges?
