A$AP Rocky + Kanye West Take Issue With MTV’s ‘Hottest MCs in the Game’ List

A$AP Rocky is taking issue with MTV’s “Hottest MCs in the Game” list. Although he agrees he deserves to be on the list, he’s not pleased with his rank. He landed at number eight on the list, but believes he should be number one.

In an interview with LA Leakers, he explained why he thinks he’s the head honcho. He references his influence on trending styles and viral success as reasons why he should be on top of the list.

“All my videos are sh---ing on any hip hop video out there. Let’s be honest. The reason why everybody is wearing gold again is because of your boy. Everybody’s wearing diamonds. I’m the one who made the John Lennon shades with the glasses. Everybody wearing it now, you see what’s going on? Come on, who brought gold teeth back? Let’s be honest. Honestly, I brought it back in a dramatic way. I made braids hot. Let’s get off trends.”

You can’t knock dude’s hunger. He said he’d rather not be on the list at all than be number eight.

“It’s frustrating when I’m number eight. Don’t put me at all. I need to be number one.”

Rocky isn’t the only one frustrated with his rank on the list. Kanye expressed his disappointment with his number seven rank.

“Yeah #7 bothers me. I think that Wayne is the number one rapper in the world. Him and Jay and Em and certain people are just the greatest rappers of all time. For me, I feel like in order for them to put me at number 7, they had to bring up things that they didn’t like.”
