2018 Is The Year Of Mary J. Blige

The first month of the year isn’t even over yet and Mary J. Blige is having the best year ever. The R&B legend not only finally got her much deserved star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame earlier this year, but she has been nominated for not one, but two Oscars!

The first is for Best Supporting Actress in Netflix film, ‘Mudbound’ and Best Original Song for “Mighty River,” the song she wrote and sang for the same film. “It’s very empowering. I feel like I’m part of something so incredible right now because we’re taking our place in the world,” Blige previously told Entertainment Tonight about working on female-led ‘Mudbound’. “We are equals.”
