Ultimate Fighting Championship vice president, Marc Ratner said he’ll bring the popular franchise to the Times Union Center in Albany once MMA is legalized in New York State. Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem like that’s going to happen any time soon.

New York Assembly Speaker, Sheldon Silver, says there will be no vote to move the bill forward this year. The state could make an incredible amount of money by legalizing the sport here, by the way.

Opposition claims they can’t rationalize supporting such a violent sport because it would contradict their other priorities like bullying in schools. State Assembly has been resisting MMA legalization for the past 7 years.

Maybe we should send a shirtless, mean-mugged Rampage Jackson to negotiate with the Assembly. On second thought, it’s been a while since Rampage won anything.
