Three people have been arrested for the massive fire that destroyed part of an overpass on Atlanta’s I-85 freeway. Authorities have shut down part of the freeway as construction is underway to repair the overpass, which could take months. I-85 is major artery that runs through the heart of Atlanta; so the commute is going to go from bad to brutal.

According to reports, a 39-year-old suspect, Basil Eleby, purportedly smoked crack before allegedly starting the blaze that collapsed a major portion of the freeway. He has been charged with first-degree arson and felony criminal damage to property. Two additional suspects, Barry Thomas and Sophia Brauer, were detained but not arrested.

However, Atlanta native T.I. is questioning how this massive fire started on the I-85 freeway. The rap vet went on his Instagram page to reveal his suspicion.

“Now I’ve heard some far out s--- in my day...but this s--- here tho?!?!,” he writes in the caption of an image of a news report about the I-85 bridge fire. “In all my experiences wit crack &/or crackheads I ain’t NEVER seen nothing like this s---!!! Js in my hood never set anything but da DOPE on fire."

Local people who have interacted with Eleby say they can't believe that he's behind the fire that eventually collapsed portions of the I-85 freeway. Employees from two liquor stores said that Eleby would come by to do odd jobs and wash windows.

We don't know what to make of this. But we are glad that no lives were lost in this massive fire.
