Have you ever been so excited about a concert that you buy the tickets and drive 2 hours to the show only to find out you are there on the wrong night? Even worse, your tickets were for the night BEFORE! This recently happened to a friend of mine but then a miracle occurred.

This is an open letter to the complete stranger that came to the rescue with an incredible act of kindness and generosity.

My girlfriend and I met friends at the Colony Grill in Port Chester prior to the Marcus King Band show for a pre-concert meal and to catch up. When our friend checked his tickets he suddenly realized he had tickets for Friday and now it's Saturday!

I called the Capitol Theatre box office to see if there was anything they could do but they suggested he buy some of the tickets they had "just released".

Between tickets, hotel and gas our friend was out nearly $1,000 and started heading home. My girlfriend took to the Marcus King Band Lions Den fan group page on Facebook for a last ditch effort.

This person wasn't looking for a cash grab and wasn't even looking to break even! This complete stranger was willing to offer her tickets to a Sold Out show FREE to someone she has never met. The response was overwhelming.

Aside from the actual songs and performances, this is why I love music and those that appreciate it. Music fans form a community, brotherhood, sisterhood, it's family.

So to the Marcus King Band fan from Jew Jersey, thank you! You made this man's night and gave the rest of us a new level to reach for. You didn't ask for money, trade or even a thank you. You just gave and that is priceless.
