Easy Capital Region Weekend Get Aways

The biggest complaint I hear about the Capital Region is "there is nothing to do here". Well that isn't true there are plenty of things to do here, If you choose to believe that narrative, there are plenty of place to go that are close by with plenty to do. Here are 3 weekend get aways that you can drive to from the capital region.

Boston - Boston is the capital, and most populated city in Massachusetts. There is plenty to do in this huge city. Catch a Boston Red Sox game at the historic Fenway Park, go back in time for a reenactment of the Boston tea party, visit the marine life at the New England Aquarium, walk the Freedom Trail and see 16 of Boston's most famous cultural and historical sites. Then end your day with a slice of Boston Cream pie.

New York City – Get lost in the Big Apple. New York City, which is made up of 5 boroughs (Brooklyn, Queens, Manhattan, Bronx, and Staten Island) sits where the Hudson River meets the Atlantic Ocean. Take a ferry ride to the Statue of Liberty. Go to the top of iconic skyscrapers such as the Empire State Building. Have lunch in Central Park. Catch a play on Broadway, or sight see through Times Square.

Montreal – A touch of Paris without traveling to France. Brush up on your French lingo and head over to Montreal. Skyscraper Observatoire Place Ville Marie has the most beautiful view of Montreal, see some celebrities at the Grevin wax museum, then take a walk through the Montreal botanical garden before feasting on some of the country’s most delectable treats.
