If you read my articles on the reg, you know I have a certain affinity for the NBA 2K series of video games. In my personal opinion, they’re the greatest sports simulations of all time. The developers, 2K Sports, have recently acquired another “sport” experience to bring to gamers. After THQ filed for bankruptcy, 2K picked up the license to bring a new WWE offering to PS3 and Xbox 360 this October.

The trailer for the game debuted last night on Monday Night Raw. It was announced that The Rock would be featured a while ago, but we got our first official look at “The Great One” on the cover last night as well.

Fans familiar with 2K games will surely be pleased with the move, especially if you’re interested in a created player experience. Their attention to detail in both “franchise” and “my player” modes in their NBA games is unmatched. If they can duplicate that experience on their sports entertainment game, winning a title with your created character should be quite a rewarding gaming experience. Superstars of new and old will be featured in the game, as evident in the trailer where we see the likes of Stone Cold Steve Austin and Macho Man Randy Savage.

The roster looks pretty loaded at the moment. Be aware, the list may change by the time the game is actually released. There may be some late additions added as downloadable content after release as well. But here’s the current line-up, complete with each wrestler’s rating:
