Before June even started we hit 90 degrees 3 times in Albany. It looks like that hot trend will roll into summer.

My family just bought a pool membership for the first time since we moved to Clifton Park, and it looks like that is going to be a great investment for the summer ahead!

After an easier than normal winter and a warmer than average spring, things are certainly trending for summer 2022 temperatures in the Capital Region and Upstate New York to be much warmer than normal as well. Now the Weather Channel is predicting just that.

If you recall in May, we already had 3 90 plus degrees. That is the first time in 60 years that has occurred here in Albany! So the signs have definitely been pointing to a hot summer.

The Weather Channel is saying "...the summer months are forecast to be hotter than average in much of the Lower 48, especially in the central and eastern states." These above-average temps will span across July, June, August, and September on the East Coast. The forecast really pinpoints July as being a scorcher for many nationwide.

Like any forecast, let's take this with a grain of salt because we will definitely see some cooler than normal days as we have over the past week. Plus, this is Upstate New York. Today's weather outlook is tomorrow's "What the heck happened to the weather we were supposed to get?"

That said, the weather we have had this spring is certainly pointing to a hot summer! So get ready to hit the pool or the lake a little more this summer - which isn't the worst thing in the world!
