Prince's untimely death shocked the world and people from every walk of life have been chiming in on social media with their thoughts and memories of the legendary artist. Last night (April 21), Will Smith revealed that he had spoken to the Purple Rain legend hours before the "Little Red Corvette" singer passed away and expressed the heartache he and his family are experiencing via a Facebook post.

"I'm stunned and heartbroken," wrote Smith. "I just spoke with him last night. Today, Jada and I mourn with all of you the loss of a beautiful poet, a true inspiration and one of the most magnificent artists to ever grace this earth."

The music icon was found dead at his Paisley Park compound in his home state of Minnesota. According to TMZ, the 57-year-old was treated for a drug overdose six days before his passing. After the plane he was flying in performed an emergency landing, he was hospitalized and discharged within a few hours. Prince's reps told the press that he was suffering from the flu.

Throughout the week, Prince was in and out of the Walgreens pharmacy in his neighborhood and TMZ reports that people at the store were concerned about his health because he "looked much more frail and nervous than usual." An autopsy is being performed today to determine the cause of death.

The hip-hop world has used social media as its outlet to mourn the "Purple Rain" singer's death and The Game has already dropped a tribute track called "Rest in Purple."
