On Tuesday around 4:30 in the morning, a woman was sleeping in her motel room at the Home 2 Suites when she was awakened by someone stealing her stuff.

Officers with the Colonie Police Department responded to the Home 2 Suites at 10 Metro Park Road, in Colonie, for a report of burglary inside one of the motel rooms.

A female complainant says that she was asleep in her motel room, when someone woke her as they entered the room and stole her property. The woman reported that her wallet, purse, and clothing items were stolen.

Police officers executed a search warrant into one of the other motel rooms and were able to confiscate the woman’s stolen items. They were also able to confiscate items that were stolen in a burglary at the same motel the previous day. A passport, a laptop and other personal items were retrieved and officers were able to return the items to their rightful owners.

Three subjects were located in the room and were arrested and taken into custody, two have extensive arrest records.

Schenectady resident, 26-year-old Khalil Q. Hankins was arrested and charged with two counts of fourth-degree Criminal Possession of Stolen Property. He was arrested eight times this year on various charges. He was arraigned in the Town of Colonie Justice Court and he was given an appearance ticket. Mr. Hankins was turned over to another jurisdiction on active warrants.

Schenectady resident, 21-year old Ava C. Maddalla was arrested and charged with fourth-degree Grand Larceny and second-degree Burglary. In addition, she was charged with two counts of fourth-degree Criminal Possession of Stolen Property. She was arrested 7 times by the Colonie Police Department this year. She was arrested by at least four other local jurisdictions in 2021. After being arraigned at the Town of Colonie Justice Court. She was taken to the Albany County Correctional Facility awaiting bail.

Colonie resident, 28-year-old Peter E. Pastore was arrested and charged with two counts of fourth-degree Criminal Possession of Stolen Property. Mr. Pastore was given an appearance ticket after he was arraigned at the Town of Colonie Justice Court.
