New Alive @ Five Rain Location For 2012

The Alive @ Five concert series begins this week. The free concerts take place each Thursday at 5pm at the Corning Preserve in Albany Riverfront Park. We’ve had our fair share of rain so far this season but weather will not affect the shows.

A rain location for Alive @ Five is not a new concept, the location is. The new location is the Quackenbush Square parking lot on Broadway behind the Albany Visitors Center.

This will be an adjustment for those used to the old rain location under the 787 boat launch. On a positive note, the acoustics of that location are awful. Even the greatest of bands and performers sounded like ass due to the echo and hallow sound under the bridge. Hopefully the Quackenbush lot will produce a better sound.

Thursday’s kick-off for the concert series will feature Dave Mason of Traffic with The Emerald City Band. Join us on Thursday, June 14th as Hot 99.1 welcomes Bootsy Collins!
