Lil Yachty Joins Katy Perry for ‘Chained to the Rhythm’ Remix
Lil Yachty puts his spin on Katy Perry's new single "Chained to the Rhythm" with a "Boat Remix." The Atlanta native adds his Auto-Tuned vocals to the latter half of Perry's latest record, which debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100.
"Chained to the beat now/Feeling good, got good vibes/I can feel it in my feet now/Take a shot, baby, loosen up/You the star of the scene now/I went from reading magazines to being on the cover/Get up in the groove now/Let me see you move now," Lil Boat croons on his first verse.
Yachty's remix is a small gift to fans waiting on his debut album Teenage Emotions. No release date has been announced for the LP, but the polarizing artist did describe the vibe of the project in a recent interview.
“[It has] kind of got an ’80s, ’90s vibe on some of the tracks,” Yachty said. “It’s called Teenage Emotions so it caters to a teenager’s everyday lifestyle: heartbreak, happiness, that vibe of when you’re waking up in the morning, getting dressed and want to dance. It’s not just bars or straight mumble rap, it goes down different lanes. I be rapping real hard on this one, I be pop singing on this, and I be talking about being lost in love on this one, then back to ‘fuck you, suck my dick!’”
