Congrats are in order for John Legend and Chrissy Teigen as the couple welcomed their first child into the world last week.

On Sunday (April 17), Legend made an announcement on his Twitter page that his wife delivered their baby daughter, named Luna Simone Stephens, last Thursday (April 14).

Teigen followed up on her Instagram account with a photo of the baby’s measurements. According to the 30-year-old model, baby Luna Simone weighed in at 6 pounds and 11 ounces.

“She’s here! Luna Simone Stephens, we are so in love with you! And sleepy. Very sleepy,” she wrote in the caption.

Teigen’s journey to motherhood has been an arduous process. Last October, she revealed that she was undergoing IVF in order to conceive. In February, she also revealed that she chose a female embryo during the procedure, which sparked controversy on social media with people accusing her of playing God with her pregnancy.

“I’ve made this decision,” Teigen told PEOPLE. “Not only am I having a girl, but I picked the girl from her little embryo. I picked her and was like, ‘Let’s put in the girl.’”

Controversy aside, Teigen said that her and Legend are ready to become parents. “We have no idea what we’re going to be like as parents," she said. "I think it’ll be really fun. I’m excited.”

Congratulations to John Legend and Chrissy Teigen on their bundle of joy.
