A fried chicken favorite has opened its 7th Capital Region location.

Amidst all the recent hoopla of the new Chick-Fil-A restaurants opening in Clifton Park and North Greenbush, the opening of another popular fried chicken chain fell a little under the radar.

I guess you could say Popeye's is a little bit of a nemesis to Chick-Fil-A as well, considering their battle over the years for fried chicken sandwich supremacy.  I even got into that battle myself a few years back, feeling that Popeye's won by default since we had no Chick-Fil-A at the time. And even dug in more to find what I thought was the best local fried chicken sandwich.

But lo and behold Chick-Fil-A is finally here and if you want to do your own chicken sandwich head to head from the giant restaurant chains, there is now another Popeye's in the area you can visit.

Popeye's Opens Latham Restaurant

According to News 10, Popeye's opened their seventh Capital Region location on Friday, July 21st, The restaurant is located at 753 Loudon Road in Latham, which used to be a Boston Market eatery. Popeye's also operates restaurants in Crossgates Mall, Troy, Schenectady, Clifton Park, and 2 in Albany.
