Why is The Fireworks Show Back On?

When the Village of Scotia announced that they would be canceling the fireworks at Jumpin' Jack's this fourth of July, the county stepped in. The Schenectady County Legislature wound up passing a resolution that will provide assistance for the event to go on. They are giving financial support, public safety support, and other assistance for the event.

Why Was The Show Canceled in the First Place?

There were many safety concerns with the volume of people that would be attending the fireworks at Jumpin' Jack's for the Fourth of July celebration. According to News 10 ABC, the Schenectady County Sheriff's Office, the Town of Glenville, and others offered their support so the event could happen.

Scotia Mayor David Buccifero said,

As soon as we canceled our annual fireworks display our community partners stepped up in a big way to ensure the show could go on. The invaluable support and assistance pledged by the Schenectady County Legislature along with support from CDTA and SUNY Schenectady to provide free parking and shuttle service to the event has enabled us to move forward with this family-friendly event.

When is the 4th of July Celebration at Jumpin' Jack's?

The event is scheduled for June 30th at 7 pm. There will be a ski show by the U.S. Water Ski Show Team and music at Freedom Park at 8 pm. Then the spectacular fireworks display will end the day's festivities.
