Sunday will mark the one-month anniversary of the last touchdown scored by the offensive unit. This date is not one for celebration but certainly one for reflection.

Head coach Brian Daboll and offensive coordinator Mike Kafka have to figure out a way to succeed in the Red Zone, hopefully on a consistent basis with or without Daniel Jones and Andrew Thomas.

In addition to the mounting injuries, especially to the offensive line, with these slumps, comes pressure and it begins to mount. Brian Dunleavy from nypost.com, talked to several of the players about their offensive woes. Some acknowledge, it starts to get in your head.

Dunleavy noted that the Giants have played 205 minutes on the game clock this season without an offensive score. That stat came as a bit of a surprise to running back Saquon Barkley. When asked if he know that, the star running back quipped, “Two hundred minutes? Dang! What was your question?” Wide receiver Isiah Hodgkins appeared to be more in tune with the duration of the streak, “It definitely seems that long … even a little bit longer. No one wants it to be like this."

Wide receiver Darius Slayton spoke about the dangers of players letting these situations get into their head. “When you start pressing and making more of it than that it is, that’s when you make mistakes and start doing stuff that ultimately isn’t going to get you what you want." New York is going up against a dangerous front seven in Washington. It is going to be imperative for quarterback Tyrod Taylor to release the ball quickly and pace this offense down the field into the end zone. The Giants are 1-5. If Daboll and his crew can scheme up a game plan similar to the one they had for Buffalo last week, Taylor should be able to get the ball in the end zone and lead Big Blue to victory.
