New York Yankees ‘Martian’ Injured – Lost For The Season

Unfortunately on Sunday, according to Yankees' manager Aaron Boone, that rocket-ship has been grounded for the remainder of the 2023 season due to injury. In fact, it is expected that Jasson Dominguez will be out of the Pinstripes' line-up to start the 2024 campaign. The questions around the Yankees' medical issues continue.

According to a report in newsday.com, Aaron Boone announced after Sunday's game against the Milwaukee Brewers that the 20-year old outfielder has a torn ulnar collateral ligament and will miss the rest of the season. The rookie is now facing Tommy John surgery and likely won't be back in the Yankees line-up until the All Star break in 2024. In 31 at bats, since being called up, Dominguez has hit .258 with four home runs and seven RBI. In addition, Dominguez has played very well in the outfield, leaving the Bronx Bombers with a gaping hole in centerfield to start the 2024 campaign.

According to Bob Klapisch of nj.com, Boone told reporters that a date for surgery has not been scheduled. However, the, but Dominguez said after the game that the plan was to “get the surgery as soon as possible.” Injuries continue to decimate Boone's squad. According to Fangraphs, 14 members of the Yankees' 40-man roster are currently on the Injured List in 2023.
