Earlier this week, 11-year old Jeremiah Fennell stole the show at Super Bowl Media Day when he interviewed Patrick Mahomes and others for NFL Network. For his conversation with Mahomes, Fennell asked the star QB to "draft" the best players at every position, in the style of fantasy football.

That clip of Fennell and Mahomes got us thinking: why can't we do the exact same thing?

So, that's what we did. In the style of fantasy football, we drafted the best Buffalo Bills' team that could ever be assembled. Our roster has ten spots to fill, which are:

  • QB1
  • QB2
  • RB1
  • RB2
  • WR1
  • WR2
  • Tight End
  • Flex Player (WR/RB/TE)
  • Defense
  • Kicker

A few notes here, for the non-fantasy football players. A "flex" player can play any of the positions noted above. The "defense" slot is not a player, but rather, it is the entire unit. The majority of fantasy football leagues allow you to choose an entire Defense/Special Teams unit from an NFL team, as opposed to drafting individual defensive players.

With that being said, there were a few difficult decisions that had to be made in order to complete our roster. The Bills have had a few standout players --- Andre Reed, Jim Kelly and Thurman Thomas, to name a few --- at certain positions, but at others, they have not had a true star.

So, for tight end and kicker, for example, there is probably a debate to be had about which player should be chosen.

Bruce Smith was an assassin at the linebacker position during his career, and he's created a memorial for the tens of QBs who were put into the ground by him on the football field.
