BREAKING: Don Granato Has Been Fired By Buffalo Sabres
If you asked anyone in Buffalo, they probably saw it coming.
After not making the playoffs for a 13th consecutive season, many people in Western New York suspected that Don Granato’s time with the Buffalo Sabres was numbered.
Only becoming the head coach of the Buffalo Sabres back in 2021, Coach Granato had an inkling that his job wasn’t exactly secure. According to a report from The Athletic, Granato didn’t “necessarily feel like he had job security” on the day before the 2022-2023 season began. At the time, Terry Pegula felt confident in extending Granato for two more years beyond his contract, but now Granato’s time at the Sabres has come to an end.
Sports director Matthew Bové broke the news on X.
It leaves a big question mark as to what coach will step into the leadership role for the Buffalo Sabres, but only time will tell with that.
