Report: Buffalo Sabres Pull Off a Trade on Wednesday

The Buffalo Sabres season is already starting to get away from them, and we aren't even at Christmas yet.

The Sabres dropped their fourth straight loss on Tuesday night, losing 5-3 to the Detroit Red Wings on home ice. The Sabres spotted the Red Wings a four-goal lead, and while they played much better in the third period, it was too little too late to win the game.

The Sabres sit five points out of a wild card playoff spot and they are second last in the Eastern Conference in terms of point percentage.

On Wednesday, general manager Kevyn Adams decided to make a move to spark the team. The Sabres have reportedly traded for Columbus Blue Jackets forward Eric Robinson.

Robinson is a 28-year-old left winger who has spent his entire five-year career with the Blue Jackets. He has played mostly on their third and fourth lines, scoring a career-high 12 goals last season, three of them coming against the Sabres at KeyBank Center.

Robinson being added is clearly a move to help the physicality and down-low work for the forwards. He certainly won't be helping Buffalo in scoring but this seems to be a shake up move for the locker room.

Head coach Don Granato should be on the hot seat. Sabres fans love him and he's been someone who the players have seemed to like playing for, but the results have simply not been there. This team has regressed.

If Buffalo misses the playoffs this season, Granato might not be back in 2024-2025. We will have to see about GM Kevyn Adams.
