Drake Unveils Cover Art and Release Date for New Album ‘Scorpion’
Drake's new album finally has a release date. Nearly two months after revealing the title for his upcoming album Scorpion, Drizzy has now announced the project will be releasing on June 29.
The Toronto MC hopped on Instagram on Wednesday (June 13) to share the date, along with the album's artwork. "JUNE 29 2018 ," Drake wrote in the caption of a black and white photo that features his signature, the album name and "2018." While not much else is known about Scorpion, Drizzy did previously reveal that Noah "40" Shebib and Oliver El-Khatib will serve as executive producers for the project.
Scorpion will arrive just in time for Drake's upcoming Aubrey and The Three Migos Tour, which kicks off on July 26 in Salt Lake City, Utah. The "God's Plan" rapper will be joined by Migos, as the artists make stops in Denver, Toronto, Detroit, Chicago, New York, Boston, Miami, Houston and more.
While the trek will officially wrap up on Nov. 17 in Atlanta, Drake and Migos recently added a few more dates to the tour, adding extra shows in cities such as Montreal, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Edmonton, Canada.
Scorpion also arrives at the tail end of Drake's feud with Pusha-T. The beef, which got ugly with the release of Pusha's "The Story of Adidon" diss, came to a halt when Drake never responded, and Push and Rap-A-Lot Records CEO J. Prince called the feud dead.
