Drake dropped a new record this week called “Hold On, We’re Going Home.”  The track features a new sound from Drizzy.  The multi-talented artist has sung on hooks and verses in the past, but this record is pretty much a straight forward R&B track.

The record was produced by frequent collaborator, 40.  He told MTV news he was trying to give the track a Quincy Jones + Michael Jackson feel.

“It’s not a rap record.  It’s not Versace.  It’s not Started From The Bottom.  In approaching this album, I was like man, ‘it would be great if we had a record that was played at weddings in 10 years or that people that are away from their families in the army could listen to.  Something that just has timeless writing, timeless melody.’”

The record is complimented by OVO group, Majid Jordan.  “Majid is singing on the record with me andJordanis his production partner.  It’s a great record.  I’m nervous and excited and all these things about it.  I’ve never really put out a record like this before so we’ll see how it goes.”

The track will appear on Drizzy’s upcoming album, Nothing Was The Same.  The project will be available on September 17th.
