I am loving what I am seeing from the Syracuse University football team so far this season.  Head Coach Dino Babers has him team off to a 6-0 start fresh off of a win over NC State at the Dome.  The crowd was electric with over 50,000 fans in attendance.  Now Cuse will head to Death Valley to take on a Clemson team that is also undefeated and ranked #5 in the country.

It will be a noon kick and features the top two teams in the ACC conference at 7-0 and 6-0.  I think Clemson will win but Syracuse will compete and keep it close.  Obviously I would love for Syracuse to win and get into the top ten but it will be tough trying to beat Dabo Swinney at home.  This will be a true test for the Orange as I talk about in my quick take from The Times Union:

After several lean years, it’s nice to see Syracuse University stand behind head coach Dino Babers. Some schools might have changed coaches, but SU stayed the course with Babers and it’s paying off this season. The Syracuse football team is good again, but a big test looms on Saturday at Clemson when the two unbeatens meet at Memorial Stadium. If the Orange can knock off No.5  Clemson, Notre Dame comes to Syracuse October 29th, and that would almost certainly produce another sellout at the JMA Wireless Dome.

MJ and I were joined by Emily Leiker earlier this afternoon on Big Board Sports.  She covers the Syracuse football team for Syracuse.com.  Below is our full interview with her.

It should be a good one Saturday afternoon and I hope Syracuse shows everyone around the country how good of a football team they really are.
