OutKast made Atlanta and hip-hop proud by winning three trophies at the 2004 Grammy Awards including the coveted Album of the Year Award honor for their classic album 'Speakerboxxx/The Love Below.' In a special segment for Billboard, Big Boi recalls their historic moment and what it meant to himself and Andre 3000.

"[Andre] and I were in L.A. with 30 members of our extended families, who also attended the awards," he reveals. "We had the hotel on lockdown with so many rooms on different floors. It was like a family reunion. This was a special moment because the Grammy is one of the most prestigious prizes in music."

"Winning Album of the Year [for OutKast’s 'Speakerboxxx/The Love Below'] was the equivalent of winning a Super Bowl ring," he continues. "To be the best album of all the genres is the highest honor in music and is one of the highlights of my career."

For the 2014 Grammy Awards, three notable rap albums are vying for the prestigious Album of the Year title: Jay Z’s 'Magna Carta Holy Grail,' Macklemore’s 'The Heist' and Kendrick Lamar’s 'good kid, m.A.A.D. city.'
