What exactly happened inside Target at 26 Crossing Boulevard in Clifton Park on Monday April 18, 2022?

According to Syracuse.com, a Clifton Park family was shopping in town on Monday afternoon. Some family members were at the Walmart Supercenter on Route 9 while the rest of the family were shopping in Target a short ride down the road.

Times Union reports that, Inside Target, a 14-year-old autistic boy was waiting for his siblings and cousins to purchase their items and leave the store. What happened next is in dispute but the boys mother, Chante Ware, suggests that her son was suddenly thrown to the ground by police officers.

The sheriff's office said they were called to Target at 12:29 p.m. for a disturbance in which "youths at that location were being disruptive." As you will see in the video below officers are attempting to detain the 14-year-old boy when his sister approaches and becomes upset at what she sees.

From that point of the video and for approximately 5 additional minutes the scene is chaos. The officer is assisted by backup as well as, what looks to be, detectives in plain clothes.

In the end the 17-year-old sister was arrested for felony assault and resisting arrest, a misdemeanor, The 14-year-old boy was handcuffed but not charged Watch the video below to see the incident unfold.
