UPDATE:

A lawyer representing A$AP Rocky on the case has denied reports that his client is in poor conditions behind bars.

While it is unclear whether this is Rocky's main lawyer or one appointed to him from Swedish officials, Henrik Olsson Lilja has spoken out to Swedish publication Svt Nyheter to clear things up.

"It is a common detention, it is clear that there is food," he said in regards to reports that Rocky is only eating an apple a day because the food is so bad. He says Rocky just hasn't been hungry. As for reports that the facility violated the Vienna Convention by not allowing an immediate visit from an official at the U.S. Consulate, Lilja says he "has no restrictions, he can meet who he wants—the problem is that it takes some time."

The Swedish Prison and Probation Service has also denied the claims.

"We cannot comment on individual clients, but we can deny the image of the Kronobergs arrest described in the article from TMZ," Fredrik Wallin, head of the Kronoberg custody, told Culture News in an email. "In order to exemplify, both staff and inmates drink the same municipal tap water."

ORIGINAL STORY:

A$AP Rocky's living conditions in his Swedish jail cell are reportedly horrific.

According to a report TMZ published Tuesday (July 9), the A$AP Mob boss has been living in inhumane conditions while jailed in Sweden.

After he was arrested for getting into a street brawl with a Swedish man last week, Rocky, whom ASAP Ferg has claimed is living in solitary confinement, was taken to a "disease-ridden" facility. Rocky reportedly sleeps on a yoga mat with no blankets, eats an apple a day because the food isn't edible and lives next to a mentally ill cellmate who bangs his head against the walls and throws around his own feces, which no one cleans up.

This report is one that's at odds with previous descriptions of housing in Scandanavia's jail system, which some people have described as being almost hotel-like compared to jails in the U.S.

Elsewhere in TMZ's report, the source explains how the Swedish government has reportedly violated Rocky's rights as an American citizen. Under the Vienna Convention for Consular Relations treaty Sweden and the United States signed in 1961, when a foreigner like Rocky is arrested, he has a right to a visit from an official at the U.S. Consulate.

The source claims Rocky asked for his obligatory meeting. Yet, once the official from the American Consulate arrived at the detention center, the meeting, like his appeal to the Swedish Supreme Court, was denied. Rocky met with the American Consulate two days later, but they reportedly weren't allowed to meet in private.

In related news, Tyler, The Creator, ScHoolboy Q and others are vowing to stay away from Sweden until Rocky is freed.
