There is a Christmas tree tradition in Western New York that brings all of our favorite things together. It combines beer and holiday cheer. It has been missing since the pandemic hit and is finally making its return this year. It's the Genny Keg Tree!

What is the Genny Keg Tree?

The Genny Keg Tree is a ceremonial Christmas tree made entirely out of kegs of beer. It is constructed outside of the Genesee Brew House in Rochester, NY.

The Genny Keg Tree contains more than five hundred used kegs and stands three stories high. It was first erected in 2013 and has been a tradition since. Unfortunately, 2019 was the last time it was lit because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The festivities will also highlight the release of Denesee's Keg Tree Ale which is a cinnamon cream ale. They will unveil it that night and you will be able to have it on tap and in growlers to go. Also, Genesee will be donating a dollar for every Keg Tree Ale purchased in the month of December to a homeless organization called the Open Door Mission.
