If you like hip hop and you haven’t purchased A$AP Rocky’s long-awaited debut album, LongLiveA$AP… WAKE UP! It’s earning the Harlem rapper rave reviews and cementing himself as a name that will be around for a while. He spoke to MTV about future goals and the similarities between Wu Tang and his clique, A$AP Mob.

“We gotta hold it down for the young cats man. My thing is, I just want to make everybody who enjoys music and art and hip hop music proud. That’s all I want to do. I don’t want y’all to say this guy is misrepresenting us or he’s giving it a bad name. I just want to represent hip hop well and I want to show you guys my aspect on what I think hip hop should be.”

He also talked about his non-traditional approach to music videos, his lyrics and production choices. Rocky calls himself an innovator and is ready to hit the ground running in 2013.
